A NEW property series gives aspiring self-builders a chance to take a look behind the scenes at how to tackle your own projects, starting from the very beginning.
Based on real-life stories, Building The Dream follows a series of ordinary people who have designed and built, or are still building, homes that they could either not afford or were unable to find on the market.
Instead of big-budget Grand Designs-style aspirations, the case studies are all down-to-earth working folk like Adam and Vicki Nicholl from Hertfordshire, who were willing to take a bit of a risk and spent £400,000 on their barn-style home in Pirton.
The series is fronted by architect and presenter Charlie Luxton, who brings a light and humorous touch to the subject; a refreshing change from some of the more pompous property shows on offer.
