MARY BERRY and Paul Hollywood took the Bake Off to France last night but it was less "ooh la la" and more "mon dieu" as the bakers whipped up three dozen canapes, created a dessert with an uncanny resemblance to a brain and designed their own seven-layer opera cakes.
Paul was back in his salsa dancer outfit of black shirt with the stonewashed denims, his tanned cheeks bristling with five o'clock shadow. Rough night, Paul?
Mary looked fraiche et charmant in a rose blazer proving she really is the queen of the sharp jacket. And with an added authority she seemed newly energised as the end of the competition lurches into sight. express
