Par performance for local property market - One year until the Ryder Cup

There was a 19% rise in average house prices in the Auchterarder area (from ?193,805 in the first six months of 2012 to ?230,747 in the same period this year), and transaction numbers have risen by around a third. Higher-end properties are attracting buyers from outside the immediate area, with 40% coming from outside Perthshire.

Homes in the Auchterarder area, which includes two of Scotland's most expensive streets, Caledonian Crescent and Queen's Crescent, consistently sell for 20% above the Scottish average. Around 40 miles from both Glasgow and Edinburgh the location provides good access to both cities and their respective airports, as well as direct rail services to London.
