Police divers who scoured the Wellington coastline for clues to the killing of Miramar mother Rongmei Fan uncovered a number of items of interest.
Ms Fan, known as Mei, was found dead in her home two days after she dropped her children off at school on November 8.
Police divers yesterday searched the coastline by the Miramar wharf and Shelly Bay Rd for items that may have been linked to the 37-year-old's killing, such as clothing used as a disguise.
A number of items of interest were found by the search team, police spokesman Nick Bohm said.
"We are assessing them at the moment for any relevance that they may have to the homicide inquiry.''
No other dives were planned at this point.
"We'll just work our way through and see if any of the items that they have recovered have any particular relevance, and then we can make some more decisions about other areas that we might want to search.''
Mr Bohm said police were also expediting travel plans for Ms Fan's family to travel to Wellington from China. The family was due to leave China today if all the documentation was ready.
"We're hoping they will be here early next week at the latest,'' Mr Bohm said.
Police yesterday appealed to Miramar residents to search their properties for out-of-ordinary items such as clothing, footwear or jewellery and to call police if anything was found.
Investigators have identified a number of people of interest in relation to the killing.
They have also released an image of the 32cm knife with a wooden handle used to kill Ms Fan.
